    Der Beitrag fasst die Ergebnisse einer Analyse des so genannten Meißner Rechtsbuchs zusammen. Im Mittelpunkt dieser Untersuchung standen die deutsche Version dieses Rechtsdokuments, die zwischen den Jahren 1357 und 1387 entstanden ist, und deren 19 alttschechische Übersetzungen aus den Jahren 1428–1516. Viele in diesen Texten gefundene Germanismen sind Entlehnungen, die zur Benennung der neuen Inhalte dienten, die in den böhmischen Ländern bisher unbekannt waren. Eine andere Gruppe von Germanismen bilden Ausdrücke, die in der Zeit der Übernahme eine Konkurrenz für Wörter indigener Herkunft darstellten. In der vorliegenden Studie werden parallel entsprechende Passagen im alttschechischen und im deutschen Text behandelt. The paper informs readers about the results of a recent study on the so called Meißner Rechtsbuch (Meissen Law Book), a text originally written in German between 1357 and 1387 and 19 Old Czech translations of this document. The research focused on the analysis of Germanisms in the Old Czech texts that were produced between 1428 and 1516. A number of the Germanisms identified were used to designate facts that were new to the Czech Lands at that time. Another group were Germanisms that competed with contemporary common Czech or foreign words. The paper also presents selected extracts with borrowed expressions and their German equivalents in both the original German and Old Czech versions of the Meissen Law Book.

    In the first part, the study presents a brief characteristics of the development of the Modern High German language after 1650 from the point of view how other languages influenced its vocabulary and analyses numerous loan words. The second part deals with the origins and the first activities of the General German Language Society (from 1885 on) which became the leader in the field of the institutionalised ideological fight against foreign words in the central German language area. The third part introduces the research results of the affiliate societies which were founded in Moravia, one of the part of the Lands of the Bohemian Crown. Both the information in the journal of the General German Language Society and archive documents in three Moravian archives (in Brno, Jihlava and Nový Jičín - the only Moravian cities where affiliate societies were founded) show that their existence was rather a peripheral issue in these cities. As opposed to this, affiliated societies were very active in the cities of northern Bohemia. At the end of the study, the author considers the reasons which caused this kind of situation in Moravia.

    One of the significant fields of institutional communication in the Early New High German period was the legal system. It can therefore be assumed that court documents from that era include elements of the contemporary spoken language. This paper presents the results of a corpus analysis examining 40 examples of two text types in court documents - witness accounts and testimonies of men tortured on the rack. Elements of the spoken language were found on the phonetic/phonological, morphological and syntactic/textual levels.

    In Europe, anthroponyms have undergone a complex development, as simple one-word personal names have developed into multi-word structures containing one, two or more personal names and a stable surname. The article predominantly characterizes the development of surnames on the basis of their origin. Attention is also paid to different trends in the development of personal names. The article analyses this phenomenon from various perspectives, using an example of one specific living person’s anthroponyms.
