    Este dossiê temático - organizado por dois professores universitários brasileiros de nascimento austríaco - cujas contribuições abordam a Áustria e sua literatura no Brasil e no mundo, reune quinze artigos de pesquisadores austríacos, alemães e brasileiros das mais várias áreas de Letras além de Filosofia e de História. A motivação pela sua organização é homenagear a recentemente fundada Coleção Austríaca da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) que se entende como ponto de referência em assuntos de cultura, história e literatura austríacas em solo brasileiro e como porta-voz de cursos, eventos, exposições e projetos relacionados às mesmas.

    Dieses thematische Dossier, das von zwei brasilianischen Universitätsprofessoren österreichischer Herkunft organisiert wurde, und dessen Beiträge Österreich und seine Literatur in Brasilien und aller Welt behandeln, versammelt 15 Artikel österreichischer, deutscher und brasilianischer ForscherInnen der verschiedensten Disziplinen der Geistes- und Sprachwissenschaften als auch der Philosophie und Geschichte. Es ist in erster Linie eine Hommage an die kürzlich gegründete Österreichsammlung der Bundesuniversität von Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), die sich auf brasilianischem Boden als Referenz- und Angelpunkt in Sache österreichische Kultur, Geschichte und Literatur versteht als auch als Sprachrohr für diesbezügliche Kurse, Veranstaltungen, Ausstellungen und Projekte.

    Este artigo apresenta o "Réquiem a uma Amiga" (tradução no final do artigo) com algumas reflexões ensaísticas sobre o lugar desse poema na obra do poeta R. M. Rilke. Iniciaremos com observações biográficas (os encontros do poeta com a escultora Clara Westhoff e sua amiga Paula em Paris em 1900) que ocasionaram o estudo da pintura de paisagem e um pequeno livro de ocasião de Rilke sobre a colônia de artistas de Worpswede, no norte da Alemanha. O forte impacto que esses encontros - e em particular a análise das telas de Paula Modersohn-Becker em 1905 - tiveram sobre a sensibilidade poética de Rilke contribuíram para a nova forma estilística ('Dingwendung') que se manifesta na obra madura de Rilke. Apresentamos assim um momento de vida e um aspecto específico do desenvolvimento da relação do poeta e de sua obra com as artes plásticas, que ilumina o papel da poesia como trabalho de luto do poeta e como prefiguração das obras da fase madura dos Sonetos e das Elegias. This paper presents Rilke's "Requiem to a Friend" (with a translation at the end of the article) with some essayistic reflections on the place of this poem about Paula Modersohn-Becker's death in the life and the work of the poet. We will begin with biographical observations about Clara Westhoff and her friend Paula meeting Rilke in Paris in 1900 - an encounter that occasioned the study of landscape painting and a small book by Rilke about the artist colony of Worpswede in northern Germany. The strong impact that these encounters - and in particular the analysis of Paula Modersohn-Becker's canvases in 1905 - had on Rilke's poetic sensibility contributed to the new stylistic form ('Dingwendung') that manifests itself in Rilke's mature work. We thus present a moment in life and a specific aspect of the development of the relationship of the poet and his work to the fine arts, and of poetry as an artistic process of mourning which announces the mature phase of the Sonnets and the Elegies.

    Dieser Artikel behandelt Pausen, Unterbrechungen, Stille und deren dramatische Funktionen und Bedeutungen, die sich in den Kabaretts des österreichischen Komödianten Josef Hader ausmachen lassen. In allgemeiner Weise wird dem (Anti)Phänomen der Pausen und Stille sowie dem ihnen Wesenhaften nachgespürt, um zu einer Definition zu gelangen. Dabei werden die Pausen in der Musik als Ausgangspunkt und theoretisches Analogon herangezogen. This article deals with pauses, breaks and silence, and their dramatic functions and meanings, which can be detected within the cabarets of the Austrian comedian Josef Hader. From a general point of view, we reflect on the (anti-)phenomenon of pauses and silence and their essences, searching to define them and taking the pauses in music as starting point and theoretical analogon. Este artigo trata de pausas, interrupções e silêncio e as suas funções e os seus significados dramáticos que podem ser detectados nos esquetes teatrais do comediante austríaco Josef Hader. De um ponto de vista geral, nós refletimos sobre o (anti)fenômeno de pausas e silêncio e as suas essências, tentando definí-los, tomando as pausas na música como ponto de partida e análogon teorético.
