    This article deals with the attempt of systematizing my experience as translator of literature written for children and young people. On the basis of some considerations about aspects shared by both, the production and the translation of this kind of literature, this article presents a number of examples taken from translations of German texts into Brazilian Portuguese. Consequences concerning the importance of concepts like interaction and creativeness in translation are then briefly discussed. A claim for a more systematic consideration of the question by Translation Studies and for a special position to be occupied by this genre of texts in the professional field is the background of the article. Die vorliegende Arbeit stellt den Versuch dar, meine Erfahrungen als Übersetzer von Kinder- und Jugendliteratur zu systematisieren. Von Aspekten ausgehend, die sowohl für die Produktion als auch für die Übersetzung von Kinder- und Jugendliteratur von entscheidender Bedeutung sind, werden Begriffe wie Interaktion und Kreativität bei der Übersetzung dieser Textsorte kurz erörtert. Dies geschieht anhand von Beispielen, die vom Deutschen ins brasilianische Portugiesische übersetzt wurden. Forderungen nach einer systematischeren Berücksichtigung dieser Frage seitens der Übersetzungstheorie und nach einer besonderen, noch zu definierenden Stelle für diese Übersetzungsart in der Berufspraxis liegen dem Beitrag zugrunde.

    This article deals with experimentation in contemporary German theatre, making a survey of experimental elements in German and Brazilian stagings, particularly of Shakespearean texts, which took place from 1990 to the present. The survey has been based on the analysis of reviews published in newspapers and magazines in both countries, and also on video recordings of two German and one Brazilian stagings. The article describes the concepts of experimentation and convention developed in the study, presents the results of the research and discusses the appropriation of these elements, especially the experimental ones, in the contemporary Brazilian and German Theater. Dieser Artikel beschäftigt sich mit den experimentellen Aspekten des deutschen Theaters der Gegenwart. Ziel der Untersuchung war zunächst eine Aufstellung von experimentellen Elementen in deutschen und brasilianischen Inszenierungen seit 1990, insbesondere von Shakespeare-Stücken. Mit den Daten dieser Aufstellung wurde ein Vergleich und eine Analyse der Inszenierungen in beiden Ländern durchgeführt. Die Aufstellung wurde realisiert mit Hilfe von Rezensionen, die in Zeitungen und Zeitschriften in Brasilien und Deutschland veröffentlicht wurden, und ergänzt durch eigene Beobachtungen zu Videoaufzeichnungen von zwei deutschen und einer brasilianischen Inszenierung. Der Beitrag beschreibt die Begriffe des "Experimentellen" und der "Konvention", wie sie in der Untersuchung entwickelt wurden. Er stellt die Ergebnisse der Untersuchung vor und reflektiert die Eignung dieser Begriffe, besonders des Experimentellen, im Gegenwartstheater in Brasilien und Deutschland.

    This article examines three novels by Machado de Assis, namely "Dom Casmurro", "Esaú e Jacó" and "Memorial de Aires", and aims to relate common, ordinary characters which reflect a changing Brazil to the Faust myth. This intertextual dialogue illustrates a way of looking at the unextraordinary, but still appealing, lives of these characters. O presente artigo busca retratar o aproveitamento feito por Machado de Assis do tema fáustico, nos romances "Dom Casmurro", "Esaú e Jacó" e "Memorial de Aires", fazendo com que o mesmo conviva com figuras comuns, representativas de um Brasil em mudança. Desse modo, o diálogo intertextual exemplifica uma das maneiras de se caracterizar a vida estreita das personagens que nem por isso, deixam de ser dignas de interesse.

    Among the different functions that an autobiography might have is the claim for recognition. Some of the former members of the militant German Left from the Seventies have published autobiographical texts in the latest years. In the analysis of Inge Viett's book, the author raises the question of responsibility for her violent aiming at reaching her readers' recognition. Entre as diferentes funções que uma autobiografia pode assumir está a reivindicação de reconhecimento. Vários dos integrantes da esquerda militante alemã dos anos 1970, que romperam radicalmente com a sociedade, publicaram, nos últimos anos, textos autobiográficos. Na presente análise do livro de Inge Viett, a autora discute a questão da responsabilidade de seus atos violentos com o propósito de alcançar o reconhecimento de seus leitores. Zu den diversen Funktionen, die einer Autobiografie zufallen können, gehört das Streben nach Anerkennung. Einige der früheren Mitglieder der militanten deutschen Linken der 70er Jahre haben in den vergangenen Jahren autobiografische Texte veröffentlicht. Die folgende Analyse folgt der Fragestellung, auf welche Weise die Autorin ihre Verantwortung für die Gewaltakte und ihre Forderung nach Anerkennung formuliert

    German media theory arises within the field of literary studies at the beginning of the eighties, and has been playing since then a major role in communication and media studies around the world. However, many literary scholars are unaware of the so called German "media turn", which produced important contributions for the contemporary debate on the issues concerning text, media, meaning, perception, and technology. This article presents a discussion of the aforementioned debate, focusing on authors such as Benjamin, Schmidt and Flusser. A teoria da mídia alemã surge no campo dos estudos literários no início dos anos oitenta e desempenha um papel vital no campo da comunicação e dos estudos de mídia mundo afora. Contudo, muitos pesquisadores dos estudos literários não parecem ter consciência do assim chamado "media turn" alemão, que produziu contribuições importantes para o debate contemporâneo acerca de questões sobre texto, mídia, percepção e tecnologia. Este artigo tenta mostrar um panorama desse debate, enfocando autores como Benjamin, Schmidt e Flusser.
