    Biografisches gibt es zu dem 2003 verstorbenen Musiker genug (zuletzt Stephen Miller, BA 7/04, "Cash", BA 7/05, Steve Turner, BA 12/05), der deutsche Comic-Künstler Reinhard Kleist hat u.a. diese Quellen zu Hilfe genommen, um seinen Cash-Comic zu fertigen. Von der nicht einfachen Jugendzeit über den musikalischen Karrierebeginn, diverse Abstürze, seinem legendären Auftritt in Folsom Prison (samt Happy End mit June Carter) bis hin zu einem anrührenden "Abspann" mit dem alten Cash kurz vor seinem Tod werden alle wichtigen Eckpunkte herausgegriffen, die sich zu einem realistischen, aussagekräftigen Lebensbild verdichten. Doch nicht nur die einfühlsam und regelrecht spannend geschilderte Biografie - angereichert mit "Geschichten in der Geschichte", d.h., nacherzählten und/oder in Bilder umgesetzte Songs ("A boy named Sue", "Hurt", "Ghostriders" etc.) - beeindruckt. Sehr gut passen auch die exzellenten, intensiven Schwarz-Weiss-Zeichnungen dazu. Wie im Film "Walk the line" ein dichtes Bild-Porträt des "man in black", das überall angeboten werden kann
