The question of the relationship between Carthusians and mysticism is dealt with in this volume on the basis of the transmission of those 'mystical' books that were actually preserved in individual charterhouses. What is of interest here is how these books are dealt with in the context of the knowledge discourses, writing practices and transmission constellations specific to the order or to certain charterhouses.
