    Foreigners and Their Food explores how Jews, Christians, and Muslims conceptualize "us" and "them" through rules about the preparation of food by adherents of other religions and the act of eating with such outsiders. David M. Freidenreich analyzes the significance of food to religious formation, elucidating the ways ancient and medieval scholars use food restrictions to think about the "other."     Seit ihren Anfängen in den 70er Jahren des vorigen Jahrhunderts hat sich die feministisch-theologische Forschung weiterentwickelt und verändert. Schon von Beginn an war sie keineswegs einheitlich, sondern vielfältig. Inzwischen sind neue Themenfelder und Fragestellungen hinzugekommen. So hat sich das Interesse von den so genannten "Frauenthemen" auf die Frage verschoben, wie "Gender" oder auch: die Geschlechterdifferenz in unterschiedlichen historischen und religiösen Zusammenhängen konstruiert wird. - Der vorliegende Band nimmt in diesem Kontext eine erneute Standortbestimmung vor, bei der nicht nur Themen aus christlicher Theologie durchleuchtet, sondern auch theologische Ansätze zur Gender-Frage aus dem Islam, dem Judentum und dem Buddhismus vorgestellt werden.
