    Der immer stärker spürbare Bedarf nach schnell rezipierbaren kurzen Textformen hängt unter anderem mit der Erwartung einer effektiven Informationsverdichtung zusammen. Eine sehr wichtige Rolle spielen dabei Sprachökonomie und Informationskondensierung. Der Beitrag konzentriert sich auf infinite Konstruktionen mit Partizipien und Infinitiven, die in bestimmten Textsorten ein besonders effektives stilistisches Mittel darstellen. Partizipien sind dank ihres verbalen Charakters fähig, durch Ergänzungen und Angaben erweiterte Partizipialattribute zu bilden und somit eine Aussage zu verdichten. Der instruierende Infinitiv wird häufig als Ersatzform des Imperativs verwendet. Als sprachökonomisches Stilmittel trägt er zur Übersichtlichkeit des Textes bei. In Fachtexten ist es dann vor allem der modale Infinitiv, der zur Einsparung von sprachlichem Mehraufwand dient.

    The article analyses three texts which address the same subject (the definition of the word Wort) and aims to demonstrate that it is not only the topic that plays a crucial role in creating the macrostructure and microstructure of a text, but also the communicative situation. The article explores what differences there are in the selection of linguistic means when the same content is being expressed in texts intended for communication at various levels of specialization, and which communication strategies the authors of the texts choose in connection with the text's genre, their intentions and (above all) the communicative situation.

    Due to its specific features, the German participle has numerous functions and uses in word-formation. As partially deverbalized adjectives, participles take on the syntactic role of an adjective while at the same time retaining the valency of a verb. The paper presents the various steps in an analysis using graded (partial) corpora. Drawing on research into the properties and functions of various participle forms, it explores their specific uses in texts.

    Der vorliegende Beitrag stellt eine linguistische Studie vor, die zwei nicht nah verwandte Sprachen auf dem Gebiet der Wortbildung vergleicht – das Deutsche und das Tschechische. Das Forschungsziel der Arbeit stellt die Untersuchung deutscher Determinativkomposita und der ihnen entsprechenden Wortbildungskonstruktionen im Tschechischen dar. Es wird eine relativ junge sprachwissenschaftliche Disziplin, die Korpuslinguistik, rein praktisch vorgestellt und die konkreten Ergebnisse der kontrastiven Untersuchung werden präsentiert.
