    The paper is an analysis of the literal and the idiomatic use of the German word group '(jm.) (die/seine) Zähne zeigen' and of its Czech counterpart 'ukázat (někomu) (své) zoubky/zuby' (cf. 'to show (sb) one's teeth') in German and Czech electronic text corpora. Its aim is to find possible reasons for the translation of the German idiom in a novel by a single Czech word paraphrasing its meaning. Examples from the parallel corpora seem to support the assumption the reason could be the effort of the translator to prevent misinterpretation due to the difference in the frequency of the literal and the idiomatic use of the particular word group in the given languages.

    The topic of this paper is legal language and its integration into the teaching process in the training of translators working in the language combination German / Slovak; this area of didactics is relatively unexplored in Slovakia. The main aim of the study is to emphasize the importance of developing professional translation competence as part of translator training, as this competence is of significant assistance when creating content-correct translations. Based on an analysis of student translations, the article lists the most common problems encountered when translating legal texts, mainly related to the use of incorrect translation strategies.

    Im Beitrag wird die Problematik rekurrenter, strukturell und semantisch sehr heterogener Wortverbindungen fokussiert. Es geht um in der Mehrwortforschung eher vernachlässigte Konstruktionen, die man als binäre Präposition-Substantiv-Verbindungen bezeichnen kann. Die Analyse lexikalisch-syntagmatischer Kombinatorik von minimalen Wortverbindungen eröffnet neue Ergebnisse, denn auch Funktionswörter sind restringiert im Gebrauch. In diesem Artikel wird versucht, die Problematik der Äquivalenz dieser Wortverbindungen näher zu bringen und durch reiche Belege auf die Wichtigkeit kontrastiver Analysen aus der sprachpraktischen und didaktischen Perspektive hinzuweisen. Die Auseinandersetzung mit dem Thema der präpositionalen Wortverbindungen aus der kontrastiven Sicht stellt ein Desiderat in der bisherigen Forschung dar. The article focuses on the problem of recurrent, structurally and semantically very heterogeneous word combinations. It is about neglected constructions in multi-word research, which can be called binary preposition-noun combinations. The analysis of lexical-syntagmatic combinatorics of minimal word combinations opens up new results, because function words are also restricted in use. This article tries to bring the problem of the equivalence of these word combinations closer and to point out the importance of contrasting analyzes from a practical and didactic perspective with rich evidence. Dealing with the topic of prepositional word combinations from a contrasting perspective is a desideratum in previous research.
