    Facsimile reproduction of the original manuscript held at the Biblioteca Gambalunga, Rimini, Italy (Ms. SC-MS. 1162). The manuscript was transcribed from Dante's Divina Commedia by Venetian diplomat and poet Jacopo Gradenigo (active 1417-1420) with some omissions and with the addition of commentary and verses by Meneghino Menzani, Jacopo Alighieri and Giovanni Boccaccio. It includes 24 miniatures illustrating the first eight chants of the Inferno, 23 watercolor pen drawings, and 22 decorated initials. The identity of the illuminators continues to be debated
