Die Phraseologie - und dazu gehören auch die einzelsprachspezifischen Kollokationen - gilt zuweilen als Sahnehäubchen auf den Höhen der Sprachkompetenz. Für die (angehenden) vereidigten Übersetzer stellen Kollokationen eine besondere Herausforderung dar, da die Rechtssprache ihre eigenen Formulierungsmuster aufweist, deren Beherrschung eine Schlüsselrolle in der Fachkommunikation spielt. Im Zentrum der Leistungskontrolle bei Übersetzungsaufträgen sollten nach Nord (2006, S. 18) Übersetzungsfehler stehen, die es von sprachlichen Verstößen strikt zu trennen gilt. Obwohl kollokative Fehler bei der Dichotomie zwischen Sprach- und Übersetzungsfehlern auf den ersten Blick in den ersten Bereich zu fallen scheinen, verweist der Beitrag darauf, dass Kollokationsfehler durchaus eine Affinität zu Nords pragmatischen, konventionsbezogenen und sprachenpaarspezifischen Übersetzungsfehlern zeigen und somit keinen peripheren, sondern zentralen Status bei der Bewertung der Übersetzungsleistung genießen sollten. In the opinion of many translation scholars, when evaluating the quality of the translation it is essential to distinguish between language errors and translation errors, wherein translational errors should have a decisive impact on the assessment of the translation. The article shows that the mentioned dichotomy has by no means a strict character, but rather there are smooth boundaries and differences in the perception of what translational errors are. And so the analysis of collocation errors in translations of trainee certified translators allows us to say, that contrary to the usual treatment for language errors due to the complex nature of the failures in terms of collocation, they often correspond with translational errors distinguished by Christiane Nord (2006, S. 18), namely pragmatic errors, errors in the field of textual conventions and the specificity of language pairs. Difficulties in using the appropriate collocations, as well as the fact that the use of the terminology and phraseology of the specialised sublanguage is the most prominent criterion during the state examination for a certified translator, lead us to the conclusion that more emphasis should be put on training in the field of translations of compound collocations in the education of future translators. Also an invaluable aid in the translation of legal texts would be the creation of bilingual dictionaries of collocations, separately for each branch of law.
