Thus, there have been attempts to relate the text to ANE archaeology and history. However, others argue it is one of the latest additions to the patriarchal narratives - albeit without arguing thoroughly for it. In this book, it is thoroughly argued for Genesis 14 having originated from scribal activity in Second Temple times: several earlier biblical texts have served as templates.
