    This article is an experiment in digital methodology. It applies tools associated with the digital humanities to the study of Protestant evangelicalism in order to ask what digital research methods can offer the study of religion. Beginning with the development of a social media computer program called a Twitter bot designed to mimic evangelical ministers on twitter, the article considers how digital scholarship allows the work scholars produce to mirror more closely the religious worlds they study. Next, the article analyzes the results of the program using text analysis software. In documenting trends in the bot's output, the article highlights how digital research methods can help answer long-standing questions in the field as well as potentially ask new ones. It concludes, The article, then, is both an exploration of contemporary religious cultures and a consideration of new media methods for analyzing them.

    Sprechen heißt handeln: Auf dem Hintergrund der linguistischen Pragmatik und eines dynamischen Kulturbegriffes untersucht die Arbeit, inwiefern Instagram als heutzutage von Studierenden meistbenutztes soziales Medium eingesetzt werden kann, um die kommunikativ-pragmatische Kompetenz von DaF-Lernenden zu fördern. Kern dieser Masterarbeit ist der Vorschlag kursbegleitender Projekte (Speech acts - Sprechakte, (un)höflich), die DaF-Lernenden pragmatische Aspekte wie Illokutionen und Sozialdeixis näherbringen sowie ihre alltäglichen Lebenserfahrungen zu Beispielen authentischer Kommunikation in der Fremdsprache verwandeln. ; Speaking means doing: starting from a theoric background of pragmatics and a dynamic concept of culture, the thesis examines the extent to which Instagram, as the social medium most used by students today, can be used to promote the communicative-pragmatic competence of GFL learners. The core of this master's thesis is the proposal of course-related projects (Speech acts - Sprechakte, (un)höflich) that introduce GFL learners to pragmatic aspects such as illocutionary acts and social deixis, thereby making their everyday life experiences into examples of authentic communication in the foreign language.

    El presente artículo explora las representaciones de identidad social y repertorios lingüísticos en los textos identitarios publicados en las páginas oficiales de Facebook de Fridays For Future Spain (FFFS) y Fridays For Future Deutschland (FFFD) en contraste y comparación intercultural. Los criterios de análisis elaborados para tal propósito ponen de manifiesto que, si bien los ideales y objetivos de FFFS y FFFD son transversales a las consignas del movimiento transnacional, los textos identitarios socializados se re-enmarcan en discursos diferenciados, propios y contingentes a cada contexto sociocultural. Se concluye que el análisis contrastivo y comparativo de los textos identitarios auténticos de FFFS y FFFD ofrece provechosas aperturas para el fomento de las subcompetencias constitutivas de la mediación lingüística y cultural en el contexto de la enseñanza y aprendizaje del español como lengua extranjera. Tales sinergias se ilustran a través de una propuesta didáctica elaborada mediante el enfoque por tareas. ; This article explores the representations of social identity and linguistic repertoires in the identity texts posted on the official Facebook pages of Fridays For Future Spain (FFFS) and Fridays For Future Deutschland (FFFD). The instrument of analysis developed for this purpose reveals that, although the ideals and objectives of FFFS and FFFD are transversal to the core principles of the transnational movement, the shared identity texts are reframed in distinct discourses that are specific and contingent to each sociocultural context. It is argued that the contrastive and comparative analysis of authentic identity texts of FFFS and FFFD offers valuable possibilities to foster the constitutive subcompetences of linguistic and cultural mediation in the context of the teaching and learning of Spanish as a foreign language. These synergies are illustrated by means of a didactic proposal elaborated using the task-based approach. ; Peer Reviewed
