    Main description: Die augenfälligen Normierungslücken der deutschsprachigen Barockpoetik werden zum Teil durch poetologische Vorreden gefüllt. Dennoch bleibt die normative Gattungslehre des 17. Jahrhunderts insgesamt recht unverbindlich. Sie gewährt damit künstlerische Freiräume, deren Bedeutung bislang unterschätzt wurde. Diese Studie bietet eine systematische Analyse der gattungstheoretischen Vorgaben, welche in poetologischen Lehrbüchern und Vorreden formuliert wurden. Das materialreiche Inventar macht den Band zugleich als gattungsgeschichtliches Kompendium nutzbar. Main description: The obvious gaps in standardisation in German baroque poetics are partially filled by poetological prefaces. Despite this, however, taught genre norms remain quite tentative. This absence of binding norms affords an artistic latitude, the significance of which has hitherto been underestimated. The study provides a systematic analysis of the theoretical genre standards laid down in poetological manuals and prefaces.
