    This paper aims to study how two of the most productive German theories from the sixties and seventies of the last century - Hans Robert Jauss' Rezeptionsästhetik and Jürgen Habermas' Kommunikatives Handeln - could be woven together in order to make possible new insights over a particular German literary genre. Este texto tem por objetivo recontextualizar uma das teorias literárias mais produtivas surgidas na segunda metade do século XX, na medida em que ela interagiu com conceitos filosóficos amadurecidos na mesma época. Em particular, pretendemos discutir o modo como a Estética da Recepção, desenvolvida ao longo dos anos 1960 e 1970, na Universidade de Konstanz, pôde e ainda pode proporcionar iluminações à literatura quando associada aos estudos de Jürgen Habermas junto à Escola de Frankfurt, também ao longo daquelas décadas e das seguintes. In diesem Aufsatz soll eine der produktivsten literaturwissenschaftlichen Theorien, die in der zweiten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts entstand, neu betrachtet werden. Das Ziel ist erfolgsversprechend, weil sich diese Theorie mit zeitgenössischen philosophischen Begriffen Jürgen Habermas' auseinandersetzt. Im Besonderen soll untersucht werden, wie die während der sechziger und siebziger Jahre in Süddeutschland entwickelte Rezeptionsästhetik immer noch imstande ist, neue Einsichten auf ein bestimmtes Literaturgenre zu ermöglichen.

    The purpose of this article is the contextualization of Elfriede Jelinek's "Die Klaverspielerin" within the tradition of social criticism in Austrian literature, to which several authors from the interbellum period belong. After 1945, Austria's literary establishment strove to create social peace by means of the diffusion of a harmonistic ideology. The aim of this ideology was to reestablish a system of values inherited from the Monarchy in the 2nd Republic and the emergence of a literature of protest and estrangement in Austria in the 1980's can be seen as a reaction against this project of restoration of an anachronistic ideology. ... Este artigo tem como propósito a contextualização do romance "A Pianista", de Elfriede Jelinek, no âmbito de uma tradição literária austríaca caracterizada pela visão crítica da sociedade e de seus conflitos, da qual fizeram parte grandes expoentes das letras deste país no período entre-guerras. Se no pós-guerra o establishment literário austríaco empenhou-se pelo estabelecimento de um consenso social por meio da difusão de uma ideologia harmonística, que visava reinstaurar elementos da sociedade habsburga na 2ª. República, o ressurgimento de uma literatura de rebeldia e estranhamento na Áustria da década de 1980 pode ser compreendido como uma reação a este projeto de restauração de um ideário anacrônico. ... Der Ziel dieses Artikels ist die Kontextualisierung von Elfriede Jelineks Roman "Die Klavierspielerin" innerhalb einer kritischen Tradition der österreichischen Literatur des 20. Jahrhunderts, zu welcher fast alle bedeutenden Autoren dieses Landes in den 20er- und 30er-Jahren irgendwie gehören. Nach 1945 gelang es dem österreichischen literarischen Establishment eine harmonistishce Ideologie durchzusetzen, die alle gesellschaftliche Gegensätze durch eine eskapistische Tendenz und eine Rückkehr zu Elemente der habsburgische Ideologie ersetzten. Die Protest-Literatur der 1980er kann als Reaktion gegen diese sogenannte 'Österreich Ideologie' verstanden werden. ...

    In this article I analyze the synchronic presence, within the German academic production of the last decades, of works which can be together understood as part of an uncoordinated effort of epistemologic renewal and historization of the artistic episteme. From the contributions of different authors I synthesize the constitutive lines of those two issues, which were distinct, although convergent in their consequences for the comprehension of art and critique. First, I show how the epistemologic renewal was intermeshed with new patterns of perception of time and with the scientific concept of emergence; then, I discuss how the historization of the artistic episteme was strongly devoted to the institutional critique. ... O artigo analisa a presença sincrônica, na produção acadêmica alemã das últimas décadas, de trabalhos que, em conjunto, podem ser compreendidos como parte de um esforço nãocoordenado de renovação epistemológica e de historicização da episteme artística. Das contribuições de autores diversos são sintetizadas as linhas de constituição daquelas duas grandes problemáticas, que foram distintas, porém convergentes, em seus desdobramentos para a compreensão da arte e da crítica de arte. De um lado, mostra-se a imbricação da renovação epistemológica com novos padrões de percepção do tempo e com o conceito científico de "emergência"; de outro, vê-se como a historicização da episteme artística esteve fortemente dedicada à crítica institucional. ...

    The present article seeks to analyze the influence that contemporary methods of literary writing and modes of thought used on the American continent have had on other literary niches, having as a specific example, Germany. For that, the focus will fall on the German historical novel "Rede des toten Kolumbus am Tag des jüngsten Gerichts" (1992), from the author Hans Christoph Buch. In the novel, it is observed how the rhetorical and aesthetical processes of narrative come close to what was considered as "new metafictional historical novel", according to studies by Aínsa (1988-1991), Menton (1993) and Fleck (2007). ... O presente artigo procura analisar a influência que a escrita literária peculiar e os modos de pensamento contemporâneo em voga no continente americano alcançaram em outros nichos literários tendo, como exemplo específico a Alemanha. Para isso, o foco recairá sobre o romance histórico alemão "Rede des toten Kolumbus am Tag des jüngsten Gerichts" (1992), do autor Hans Christoph Buch. Nele, observa-se como os processos retóricos e estéticos da narrativa se assemelham àquilo que foi considerado como "novo romance histórico latinoamericano", segundo estudos de Aínsa (1988-1991), Menton (1993), Fleck (2007) de outros. ...

    This paper approaches questions concerning categories such as regional and universal and the exhaustion of the latter as qualifying criterion applied to regional literature works. On the other hand, there are theoretical and methodological contributions developed in the German academic field (Scheichel 1993; Stüben 2002; Grywatsch 2008), where the regional literature finds a favoured space in the discussions, and the criteria for measuring the works quality are built relying on sociological aspects of production and reception into regional and supraregional contexts. Neste artigo, abordam-se questões pertinentes às categorias do regional e do universal e ao consequente esvaziamento desta última como critério de qualificação de obras literárias regionais. Na contrapartida, trazem-se contribuições teóricas e metodológicas desenvolvidas no meio acadêmico alemão (SCHEICHEL 1993; STÜBEN 2002; GRYWATSCH 2008), onde a literature regional encontra um espaço privilegiado nos debates, e os critérios de mensuração da qualidade das obras são construídos com base em aspectos sociológicos de produção e recepção dentro dos âmbitos regional e suprarregional.

    João Guimarães Rosa was strongly influenced by the German literature, philosophy and music. The German tradition and its methods of associations suggested him to develop his own methodologies from the substrates provided by traditional Brazilian songs. This paper shows the general effects of musical techniques in short-stories of "Sagarana", the influence of Heidegger´s philosophy and the use of the concept of Wagner´s 'Grundmotiv' in "O burrinho pedrês" and "Sarapalha". Finally, it is proposed some connections between "A hora e vez de Augusto Matraga" (ROSA) and "Parsifal", by Wagner. A proximidade entre música, filosofia e literatura na tradição alemã e seus métodos de aproveitamento dessas relações marcou profundamente João Guimarães Rosa, possibilitandolhe desenvolver trilhas próprias a partir dos substratos oferecidos pelas cantigas tradicionais brasileiras. Os efeitos gerais das técnicas musicais em "Sagarana", a influência de conceitos da filosofia de Heidegger, a utilização do 'Grundmotiv' wagneriano em "O burrinho pedrês" e "Sarapalha" e as semelhanças entre a narrativa "A hora e vez de Augusto Matraga" e a opera "Parsifal", de Wagner, constituem o objeto desta reflexão. Die Nähe zwischen Musik, Philosophie und Literatur in der deutschen Tradition und in ihren Methoden faszinierte João Guimarães Rosa zutiefst. Aus dem deutschen Beispiel heraus entwickelte er seine Methodenlehre der Organisation der brasilianischen traditionellen Lieder.     This article aims to approach, under a critical perspective, images about German language and their speakers, presented by Brazilian university students interested in or engaged in learning this language in the first stage of studies. The purpose is to deal with evidences of the occurrence of stereotypical images and to discuss their implications in/for the teaching-learning process, aiming with this study to show the importance of considering and establishing as a relevant goal in the teaching of German, the necessity of a "destrangement" route or period, through a methodological approach aimed at helping the students in the process of developing intercultural competence. Such discussions are founded in theoretical conceptions related to the notions of "other" and "self", intercultural competence, intercultural approach, as well as in results obtained through an investigation conducted within the field of foreign language (German) learning. ; Sob uma perspectiva crítica, são abordadas neste artigo, imagens sobre a língua alemã e seus falantes, apresentadas por estudantes universitários brasileiros, interessados em aprender esse idioma ou engajados em estágio inicial de sua aprendizagem. O propósito é discutir evidências de imagens estereotipadas, bem como refletir sobre possíveis decorrências dessas imagens no/para o processo de ensino-aprendizagem da língua, buscando, com isso, apontar a importância de se considerar como objetivo relevante no ensino de alemão, a necessidade de um percurso de "desestranhamento" do idioma, por meio de enfoque metodológico orientado para auxiliar os aprendizes no processo de desenvolvimento de competência intercultural. Tais reflexões têm como base pressupostos teóricos como as noções de "outro" e de "próprio", as concepções de competência intercultural e de ensino intercultural, e resultados obtidos em pesquisa desenvolvida no campo de ensino e aprendizagem de língua estrangeira (alemão).

    This article aims to present a comparative study of the perception of multimodal texts, more specifically, advertisements printed in Brazilian and German magazines, by Brazilian learners of GFL (German as a Foreign Language) and German learners of PFL (Portuguese as a Foreign Language ), with special attention to the intercultural dimension involved in this process. Through the analysis developed in the study, it was possible to identify not only cultural aspects strictly related to language phenomena (as the use of personal pronouns and forms of treatment, for instance), but also more subjective cultural aspects (such as emotional states, the view about work, among others). This study also discusses the implications of the link between culture and language choices for the area of teaching and learning foreign languages/cultures. ; O presente artigo tem por objetivo apresentar um estudo comparativo da percepção de textos multimodais, mais especificamente, anúncios publicitários impressos em revistas brasileiras e alemãs, por aprendizes brasileiros de ALE (Alemão como Língua Estrangeira) e por aprendizes alemães de PLE (Português como Língua Estrangeira), com especial atenção para a dimensão intercultural envolvida neste processo. Através da análise desenvolvida no estudo, puderam ser identificados tanto os aspectos culturais mais diretamente relacionados a usos linguísticos (uso de pronomes pessoais e formas de tratamento, por exemplo), quanto de aspectos culturais mais subjetivos (a percepção de estados emocionais, a visão de trabalho, entre outros). Este estudo também discute as implicações do vínculo entre as escolhas linguísticas e a cultura para o ensino de LCE (Língua/Cultura Estrangeira).

    Scholars in the fields of Education, Applied Linguistics and Language Teacher Training today emphasize the crucial importance of including Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in initial training, as well as the need to promote the development of critical and reflective thinking in future teachers. Taking as theoretical assumptions studies about the characteristics of the information society, virtual learning environments and teacher training, the purpose of this paper is to discuss possibilities afforded by the Moodle learning platform for the initial training of German language teachers. To this end, we will present different ways of using virtual environments and their tools, which have proved to be very useful in the learning process of trainee teachers of German as well as during their initial teaching practices. Experience has indicated the invaluableness of virtual learning environments for monitoring licentiate students in the language learning process and in their first teaching experiences. ; Wissenschaftler aus den Bereichen Erziehungswissenschaft, Angewandte Linguistik und Fremdsprachenlehrerausbildung beschäftigen sich immer häufiger mit Fragen der Einbeziehung von Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien in die Lehramtsausbildung und der Notwendigkeit, die Entwicklung kritisch reflektierender Lehrer während der Ausbildung zu fördern. Theoretische Studien über Merkmale der Informationsgesellschaft, über virtuelle Lernumgebungen und über die Lehrerausbildung dienen als Basis für den vorliegenden Artikel, dessen Ziel es ist, die Möglichkeiten der Anwendung der Lernplattform Moodle in der Deutschlehrerausbildung zu diskutieren. Zu diesem Zweck stellen wir verschiedene Möglichkeiten vor, einige virtuelle Umgebungen und die von ihnen angebotenen Werkzeuge zu nutzen, die nachweislich großen Einfluss sowohl im Verlauf der Ausbildung selbst, als auch bei der Unterstützung der Studenten während ihrer Praktika haben.     Em 1986, praticamente no início da minha actividade de tradutor, traduzi 'A Marquesa de O…' e 'O terramoto no Chile ' para uma edição conjunta dos dois textos na Editora Antígona. [.] Preocupava-me então sobretudo com a qualidade literária do resultado tradutivo e não tanto com aquilo que hoje penso dever ser a máxima preservação possível dos caracteres funcionais do texto original. […] Nos últimos meses do ano de 2008, dediquei-me ao trabalho de traduzir alguma prosa reflexiva de Heinrich von Kleist, que viria a ser publicada em 2009 pela Editora Antígona num volume intitulado 'Sobre o Teatro de Marionetas e Outros Escritos'. Entre esses «outros escritos» encontra-se o célebre ensaio «Sobre a gradual elaboração dos pensamentos no discurso» e também a «Carta de um poeta a outro», publicada por Kleist nos Berliner Abendblätter, em 5 de Janeiro de 1811. Se aqui menciono explicitamente estes dois textos, é porque, a meu ver, como procurei demonstrar na introdução ao volume em causa, eles contribuem decisivamente para uma compreensão da concepção que o autor tem da língua, da linguagem, do discurso, da produção imagética e do estilo literário, o que por sua vez inevitavelmente reverte sobre a tradução da prosa kleistiana. Mais recentemente apresentei à Editora Antígona o projecto de organizar um volume de textos de Heinrich von Kleist que deverá intitular-se 'Prosa Narrativa Completa'. Será um projecto para concluir possivelmente em 2014. Nele deverão incluirse todas as «Novellen» de Kleist, e portanto também novas traduções de 'A Marquesa de O…' e de 'O Terramoto no Chile'. O que apresento adiante é apenas um fragmento de uma das traduções a incluir nesse volume – a do texto 'Der Findling' –, acrescentando à minha tradução alguns comentários sobre certas opções tradutivas que me parecem mais marcadamente decorrentes de especificidades da prosa narrativa kleistiana.

    De facto, a palavra escrita representa para Kafka qualquer coisa de sagrado. Daí, o célebre “aforismo”, “Schreiben als Form des Gebetes”, a “escrita como forma de oração”. Esta escrita “como forma de oração” passou, daí em diante, a representar para mim, como adolescente que era, “a leitura como forma de oração”. A leitura passou a ser para mim algo de especial e, a partir daí, fiz de Kafka e da sua escrita uma espécie de diapasão para o que devia ou não devia ler. Nessa altura, estava ainda longe de pensar que viria alguma vez a traduzir Kafka, muito menos a referida “lenda”. Entre o convite feito pelo falecido editor da Assírio & Alvim, Manuel Hermínio Monteiro, para traduzir o romance “O Processo” e as recordações do meu primeiro contacto com a obra de Kafka mediaram cerca de vinte e cinco anos de convívio quase diário com a obra do autor. Estes longos anos de leitura de Kafka nunca criaram em mim o desejo, nem sequer íntimo e secreto, de o traduzir. Quando, em 1997, subitamente me vi perante um convite para traduzir o romance “O Processo”, a minha primeira reacção foi dizer “não”! E a razão talvez tivesse sido a importância que atribuía àquela escrita singular de Kafka, que, não obstante ser simples e transparente em termos formais, tinha algo que a aproximava da perfeição.

    Lübeck, Dezembro de 2006, reunião dos tradutores de Beim Häuten der Zwiebel (Descascando a Cebola), de Günter Grass. A reunião é convocada, como já é hábito, pela editora; na verdade, trata-se mais de um convite do autor. Durante uma semana, o livro é percorrido à lupa, página a página, dúvida a dúvida. O autor lê passagens inteiras para que os tradutores escutem a cadência, o tom, e aquela escrita sobretudo visual revela uma poderosa sonoridade. Grass lê de forma magnífica e recorda a importância da leitura em voz alta para a tradução. Alguns trazem o texto já traduzido, numa primeira versão, outros começaram apenas, como eu, que só tinha traduzido quatro capítulos. Alguns, os escandinavos, conhecem-se já há anos, desde o final da década de 1970 que se encontram para estas reuniões. Eu estou ali pela primeira vez.

    The purpose of this paper is to analyze the configurations of history and memory in some works of Christa Wolf, relating these with the historical period that culminated with the downfall of the Berliner Wall in 1989 and with the end of the socialist regime in the former German Democratic Republic. Taking into account Aleida Assmanns studies on culture of memories, we intend to verify aspects related to the limits and functions of memory in some works of Christa Wolf, among them "Was bleibt" and "Leibhaftig". ; O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar as configurações de história e memória em obras de Christa Wolf, relacionando-as com o período histórico que culminou com a queda do Muro de Berlim em 1989 e consequentemente com o fim do regime socialista na República Democrática Alemã (RDA). Levando em consideração os estudos sobre cultura da memória realizados por Aleida Assmann, pretende-se verificar aspectos concernentes aos limites e funções da memória em algumas obras de Christa Wolf, entre as quais "Was bleibt" e "Leibhaftig".

    This paper aims to study how two of the most productive German theories from the sixties and seventies of the last century - Hans Robert Jauss' Rezeptionsästhetik and Jürgen Habermas' Kommunikatives Handeln - could be woven together in order to make possible new insights over a particular German literary genre. ; Este texto tem por objetivo recontextualizar uma das teorias literárias mais produtivas surgidas na segunda metade do século XX, na medida em que ela interagiu com conceitos filosóficos amadurecidos na mesma época. Em particular, pretendemos discutir o modo como a Estética da Recepção, desenvolvida ao longo dos anos 1960 e 1970, na Universidade de Konstanz, pôde e ainda pode proporcionar iluminações à literatura quando associada aos estudos de Jürgen Habermas junto à Escola de Frankfurt, também ao longo daquelas décadas e das seguintes. ; In diesem Aufsatz soll eine der produktivsten literaturwissenschaftlichen Theorien, die in der zweiten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts entstand, neu betrachtet werden. Das Ziel ist erfolgsversprechend, weil sich diese Theorie mit zeitgenössischen philosophischen Begriffen Jürgen Habermas' auseinandersetzt. Im Besonderen soll untersucht werden, wie die während der sechziger und siebziger Jahre in Süddeutschland entwickelte Rezeptionsästhetik immer noch imstande ist, neue Einsichten auf ein bestimmtes Literaturgenre zu ermöglichen.

    The purpose of this article is the contextualization of Elfriede Jelinek's "Die Klaverspielerin" within the tradition of social criticism in Austrian literature, to which several authors from the interbellum period belong. After 1945, Austria's literary establishment strove to create social peace by means of the diffusion of a harmonistic ideology. The aim of this ideology was to reestablish a system of values inherited from the Monarchy in the 2nd Republic and the emergence of a literature of protest and estrangement in Austria in the 1980's can be seen as a reaction against this project of restoration of an anachronistic ideology. The central conflict structuring Jelinek's narrative – a conflict between Erika Kohut, her mother and Walter Klemmer – is here seen as a kind of metaphorical representation of conflicts characteristic of a society divided between its attachment to the glories of a vanished cultural tradition and the unremitting assault of global mass media, structured over parameters that are diametrically opposed to this tradition. At the same time, I attempt to situate specific ways of behavior and 'Weltanschauungen' portrayed in this novel within the cultural atmosphere where they emerge, particularly that of the so-called 'Österreich Ideologie', pointing to principles of social conviviality that seem to derive from Habsburg ideology and which remain as partly unconscious and illusory undercurrents in Austrian culture in the 1980's and 1990's. ; Este artigo tem como propósito a contextualização do romance "A Pianista", de Elfriede Jelinek, no âmbito de uma tradição literária austríaca caracterizada pela visão crítica da sociedade e de seus conflitos, da qual fizeram parte grandes expoentes das letras deste país no período entre-guerras.     Mais do que um princípio formal, a noção de ensaísmo de Robert Musil adquire o duplo estatuto de uma "utopia" e de uma atitude diante da realidade. É esse duplo viés que permitirá à arte preservar-se como potência crítica e epistemológica num contexto de crise cultural e de valores na Europa no início do XX. Este artigo aborda a noção de ensaísmo de Musil a partir de seus textos críticos e de seu romance "O homem sem qualidades", demonstrando como as idéias expostas no registro estritamente "ensaístico" se configuram no âmbito da representação poética, consumando assim a "utopia" pretendida pelo autor, de fundar novas relações entre as esferas da razão e do sentimento, da ciência e da arte, da objetividade e da subjetividade. ; Robert Musil's essayism concept is more than a formal principle: in his work this concept becomes at the same time a "utopia" and an attitude towards reality. This double aspect allows the art to preserve its critical and episthemological power in a European crisis context at the beginning of the 20th century. This paper deals with Musil's essayism in his critical essays and in his novel, "Der Mann ohne Eigenschaften", pointing out how the essayistic ideas are outlined in the poetical representation, showing how one of the aspects of Musils "utopia" takes effect through the foundation of a new relation between reason and feeling, science and art, objectivity and subjectivity. ; Bei Robert Musil gilt der Begriff des Essayismus nicht nur als formales Prinzip, sondern auch und vielmehr als eine "Utopie" und eine Haltung gegenüber der Wirklichkeit. Dieser doppelte Ansatz des Essayismus erlaubt der Kunst, ihre kritische und ephystemologische Macht zu bewahren gerade in diesem Krisen-Kontext Europas zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts.
