    "Dopo il grande Convegno-evento dell'ottobre 2015, dedicato a Dante fra il settecentocinquantenario della nascita (2015) e il settecentenario della morte (2021), con le connesse celebrazioni in Senato e il Forum del maggio dello stesso anno, si è tornati a una dimensione piú consueta con il Convegno del 7-9 novembre 2016, dedicato alla produzione letteraria che si attivò Intorno a Dante, coinvolgendo direttamente il poeta o subendone in qualche modo l'influenza. Il Convegno si è proposto infatti di illuminare la figura e l'opera di Dante attraverso una estesa indagine sugli ambiti politici, storici e culturali entro i quali egli fu attivo e che ne ereditarono il magistero. Giovandosi dell'apporto di metodologie e discipline scientifiche differenti, si è inteso focalizzare l'attenzione sugli ambienti che, durante la vita di Dante e subito dopo la sua morte, si segnalano quali luoghi significativi di elaborazione di cultura e di pensiero, di circolazione di libri e idee, di forme letterarie nuove, che si comprendono pienamente solo in rapporto alla "lezione" del poeta. Entro questo quadro ampio e articolato, che tratteggia le linee fondamentali della civiltà italiana durante il sec. XIV, trova un suo spazio specifico anche la prima ricezione della Commedia, testimoniata da una notevole produzione di copie manoscritte, dalla tradizione dell'antica esegesi, anche figurata, dal fiorire di una ricca e variegata aneddotica, nonché da un importante episodio "iconografico": la recente riscoperta del prezioso Libro d'ore di Francesco da Barberino, creduto fino a non molti anni fa irrimediabilmente perduto, poi ritrovato e recentemente riprodotto in facsimile: il famoso Officiolo, miniato sotto l'attenta supervisione di Francesco, che sembra con ogni probabilità testimoniare la conoscenza non superficiale da parte del Barberino almeno dell'Inferno, di cui riecheggia talune particolarità (ad esempio la raffigurazione del Limbo)

    Editing Mediaeval Texts from a Different Angle contains a selection of papers delivered at two workshops devoted to particular cases of text editing: the ATTEMT Workshop held at King's College, London (19-20 December 2013) explored issues involved in the edition of texts with a multilingual tradition (covering Greek, Latin, Syriac, Arabic, and Slavonic), while the ATTEST Workshop (University of Regensburg, 11-12 December 2015) dealt with tradition and innovation in the field of palaeoslavistic text editing. Central to the discussions reflected in this volume are general questions on variability, textual dependency and transformation, as well as methodological issues raised by the encounter of different scholarly traditions in ecdotics and by the advent of the digital.0The volume opens with a honorary section for Prof. Francis J.
